Where exactly are you located?
Does the PubCrawler supply food or beverages?
No. Riders may bring on any permissible food or beverages they wish. We’ve got LOTS of space in the inside roof rack.
Do I need to select a route before making a reservation?
No. When you arrive, the driver will discuss route options with you. You can decide then. Private tours can select between any existing route, with the exception of the Tailgate route (as that is only available on special request during College Football season). Public tours can select between the Market District Route and the Capitol/Warehouse District Route. The Barton Springs route is not an option on public tours as it requires more pedaling that the other routes. Please note, if you reserve a 10:30am tour, your route will be determined by us to ensure the best bar selection at that time of day.
How many people ride on a pub crawl? How many pedal?
Each PubCrawler carries 15 passengers. There are 5 pedaling seats on each side, and one non-pedaling seat over the rear wheels. There is also a bench in the back of the PubCrawler that seats three. For larger groups we suggest the following options: (1) Reserve two or more full private party bikes. (2) Reserve one private party bike for 15 and purchase additional seats on a Public Tour. The two bikes would ride along side each other. (3) Split your group in half and purchase seats on two Public Tours. Again, the two bikes would ride along side each other. We typically recommend options 2 and 3 if you are slightly over the 15 person maximum. Please note that larger groups requiring the use of more than one bike are subject to an 18% prepaid driver gratuity on the tour total. Please contact us directly for assistance in making multi bike reservations.
What if it is cold, rainy or windy the day of the pub crawl tour?
The PubCrawler operates rain or shine. We’re Texans—we can dress for the weather! If severe weather does occur, the PubCrawler reserves the right to cancel the tour and offer the renter a rain check. We also offer a rain check if the tour has to be canceled due to weather within the first hour of the tour!
What if our pub crawl tour takes too long?
You may be charged a late fee if you do not return the bike to it’s starting point within 15 minutes of the scheduled return time. (Traffic beyond our control is taken into consideration!) The time it takes to complete a tour is up to the people pedaling, as the driver doesn’t pedal. We have test-pedaled all routes in order to inform our riders of the tour lengths!
Do you provide a driver on the pub crawl?
Always. Our insurance provider requires it.
Who can’t ride the PubCrawler?
The PubCrawler has a minimum height requirement of 5’3″ or greater for pedaling seats; however, we do have 3 adjustable seats on each bike which allow for a 3 inch adjustment. Additionally there is a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds for each person on the bike seats. The back seat is perfect for those who don’t exist within the height and weight limitations! All riders must be 21 or older and provide a valid identification.
Who’s in charge of the PubCrawler?
A. The driver. If you act in a dangerous manner, you’ll be asked to get off and find your own way home. You can imagine the difficulty we had finding insurance for this thing in America. It’s mandatory that we keep it!
B. The renter. Only one person can be a renter and that person is the only person the driver answers to. Can you imagine 15 people arguing about when to leave the bar? We don’t want our drivers getting in the middle of that!
What’s the liability waiver for? And what about the offer of helmets for the pub crawl?
Riding the PubCrawler can be a dangerous activity, just like riding any bike. You should have a reasonable expectation that you could possibly fall off and scrape your knee. We offer bike helmets because it’s prudent. You don’t have to wear one—that’s totally up to you. But you do take responsibility if you bump your noggin’.
When do I pay for the pub crawl? How do I pay?
The renter pays when the tour is booked, regardless of how far in advance. A tour is reserved once we have received payment, and you have received a confirmation from us. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. If the tour date is more than 7 days out, the renter can make the reservation with a 50% deposit. The balance of your deposit is due 7 days prior to the tour date and will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.
What if I want to cancel or reschedule my pub crawl?
If for some reason you really need to cancel (we can’t imagine why!), the renter has the choice of receiving a 50% refund of the full payment or 100% refund of the deposit or a rain check valid for 3 months, if the cancellation is 30 or more days prior to the tour date. Cancellations between 29-7 days will receive a rain check valid for 3 months only. Cancellations less than 7 days will receive no rain check or refund.
Does the PubCrawler run all year long?
What’s the earliest / latest I can rent the PubCrawler?
Hours of operation are generally between 10am and 10pm, unless by special arrangement.
