PubCrawler of Austin’s History
The story of PubCrawler of Austin begins in 2010. Jennifer Nolen, Robin Lund, and her husband, Billy Lund, first founded the company in April 2010 and the pedal-powered pub crawls were fully operational and providing the best way to experience Austin by July of 2010.
Prior to owning and managing PubCrawler of Austin, Jen worked for Carlson Companies Human Resource team. In 2009, during an HR team meeting, Jen participated in a pedal pub bar crawl as a team building outing. Instantly, Jen saw the team building value of the tour and knew it was something she wanted to explore further.
When Jen, Robin, and Billy sat down to go over the business plan for PubCrawler of Austin the stars seemed to align, as they all decided that it, “just made sense” as it was such a fun, inherently social, and a unique group experience.
The first PubCrawler location was located at 1321 West 5th St. but ultimately relocated to 508 Walsh Street. The second PubCrawler of Austin location was originally located at 301 Pressler St. but was also relocated to 1607 W. 6th St. The locational changes were necessary as the business grew and they needed more space to store the bike bars. PubCrawler of Austin now has two locations that are fully operational, located at 508 Wash St., Austin TX and 1607 W. 6th Street, Austin, TX.
Since their first tour in 2010, PubCrawler of Austin has grown to host over 23k riders a year. PubCrawler of Austin proudly received the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, and is also ranked #1 out of 216 “Nightlife Activities” in Austin on Tripadvisor. PubCrawler also received the People Love Us Award from Yelp in 2018.
What is a PubCrawler of Austin Party Bike?
The PubCrawlers are 15-passenger, pedal-powered parties on wheels. There are 10 pedal stations, 5 non-pedaling seats, and a seat in the center for the driver who is provided to guide every tour. The PubCrawlers are also equipped with sound systems and coolers so you and the rest of your party can enjoy your favorite tunes without ever having to worry about cracking a warm beer.
